Acupuncture for Wellbeing and Stress

Does acupuncture help wellbeing and stress?

We live in a stressful time and often this can manifest in a variety of ways including headache, poor sleep, shoulder pain and a feeling of increased tension or anxiety.

When you have symptoms that affect your quality of life on a daily basis, acupuncture can have a useful part to play to keep symptoms under control.

Acupuncture has been shown to stimulate the release of neurochemicals and help with overall homeostasis, calm the nervous system and help mood. Pain relief will also help you achieve overall wellbeing and allow for improved quality of sleep which in itself can impact health for the better. As it affects your whole body, not just your symptoms, you may notice other problems resolve during a course of treatment such as sleep.
Whenever taking prescription medication for these conditions please inform me and also tell your own GP that you intend to use acupuncture as a complimentary therapy.

Do not suddenly stop taking medication. Please ensure the GP is aware and a plan is made.

“The World Health Organization has recognized acupuncture as effective in treating mild to moderate depression”.
